Silos

Grain silos (steel)

We have been painting grain silos since the company was formed in 1983. Seventeen silos at the then Lowick Farmers Silos (now owned by Allied Grain Ltd), were painted over three summer seasons, ranging from 1000 to 5000 tonne and finished in a silver grey M.I.O Micaceous iron oxide.

"Our silos still look good today after over twenty years of harsh coastal weather."

Access:

Where silos are packed closely together (e.g picture above and below), it is impossible to use hired access units.  We have designed and produced special access equipment which consists of a wheeled frame which runs around the rim of the silo.  From this frame the Bosun's chair is suspended, giving our workers a comfortable and speedy way in which to paint a grain silo.  The scaffolding alternative would be a prohibitive extra cost to the customer.
